Though still a relatively young man, Wayne has performed and recorded with two very important and influential bluegrass groups. In a very short time he has found himself among the most popular and imitated players on the bluegrass scene today. His first large scale exposure was with Livewire (with Scott Vestal) and he is now a member of highly successful Rounder recording artists, IIIrd Tyme Out and is featured on five of their award-winning recordings.

Wayne has also been prominent in Pinecastle's annual series of instrumental projects, the most recent of which, "Bluegrass 2001" is now available.

AcuTab published a book for Wayne in 1999 and a mandolin video is in the early discussion stage.
