Banjo

Precious few banjo players under age 50 can pretend that Terry hasn't had a huge impact on their playing, performing as he has in many of the most influential bluegrass acts of the past two decades. He first appeared as a member of Boone Creek with Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas in the late 1970's with whom he recorded two albums considered milestones in the development of modern bluegrass music.

As a original member of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Terry established a banjo sound for the group that has become a part of the job description. Through stints with IIIrd Tyme Out, Carolina and now, Blue Ridge, his driving, insistent sound has set the standard for impeccable banjo work to the present day.

Terry's AcuTab book was one of their first releases in 1995 and has been hugely popular among banjo pickers chasing Terry's trademark sound. An AcuTab video featuring Terry should be available by late in 2001.
