Since he first achieved national prominence as a member of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver in the mid 80s, Scott has been recognized as one of the most exciting banjo players on the scene. His ability to switch among very traditional bluegrass, intricate fiddle tunes and progressive acoustic music has guaranteed him a loyal following.

In addition to Quicksilver he has been a member of Livewire, Continental Divide and is now working with The John Cowan Band. Scott is the producer and banjoist for Pinecastle's annual "Bluegrass" series of instrumental music and has a new solo release on Pinecastle, "Millennia."

Never one to stand still, Scott also owns and operates a recording studio near Nashville (Digital Underground) and manufactures his own line of distinctive banjos called The Stealth.

His two AcuTab books are steady sellers worldwide.
