Pete Wernick
Banjo

Pete ("Dr. Banjo") has also made a name for himself in bluegrass music since the 1970s when he was a part of the NY-based experimental string band, Country Cooking, which also included Russ Barenberg and Tony Trischka.

He was a founding member of the wildly successful bluegrass group, Hot Rize, and performed with them worldwide until they disbanded. He continues to perform and record as a solo artist and is often seen with his own band, Live Five, mixing bluegrass and Dixieland jazz or with his wife as one half of Pete & Joan Wernick.

Pete currently records for Sugar Hill records and has the distinction of having written the most popular banjo instruction book to date, with over 200,000 copies sold. AcuTab will be delighted to come anywhere near that number with their Wernick book.

Pete's instructional videos and annual Banjo Camps have been "instrumental" in the learning process of a great many banjo pickers.
