Most bluegrass fans will probably remember Mark first from his work with early "modern bluegrass" pioneers, The Knoxville Grass.
His recording of "Painted Lady" was a very influential cut that still receives airplay on bluegrass radio. In addition to Knoxville Grass, Mark has worked with The Heights Of Grass and The Virginia Squires (with Ricky Simpkins and Sammy Shelor) and now records solo projects for Rebel Records.
He runs his own entertainment agency and serves as talent promoter for the Graves Mountain Festival of Music. Mark has recorded, produced or arranged over 25 albums and his newest release is entitled "Follow Me Back To The Fold - A Tribute to Women In Bluegrass" on Rebel - which is also nominated for the same IBMA Award as Knee Deep In Bluegrass!.
