Joe Mullins One of the most popular and influential bluegrass bands in the late 80s and early 90s was the Ohio-based, Traditional Grass, featuring Joe on banjo and tenor vocal. Their breakup left a void in traditional bluegrass music but their several albums on Rebel continue to be strong sellers. Joe has reemerged of late on the two critically-acclaimed Longview recordings for Rounder and his AcuTab book allows banjo pickers to analyze the unique style which merges the sounds of his banjo mentors - Earl Scruggs, Don Reno and Sonny Osborne. Joe currently owns and manages radio station WBZI in Xenia, OH and performs only sporadically with Longview. |
