Barry Bales Over the past ten years, Barry has developed a reputation as the "go to guy" whenever a bluegrass bass player is required in the studio. He played with Tim Stafford and Adam Steffey as a member of Dusty Miller before joining Alison Krauss & Union Station in 1990 where he has remained ever since. Barry can be heard on some of the hottest releases in country and bluegrass right now, such as Dan Tyminski's "Carry Me Across The Mountain" on Doobie Shea and Alison Krauss' new release on Rounder, "New Favorite." Barry has the proud distinction of playing on 5 Grammy winning projects, 2 CMA winners and several IBMA Award winning releases. He also performed on the platinum-selling soundtrack for the movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou" - and appeared in the film! |
